Gordon Bitner Hinckley, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died Sunday evening due to complications of his advanced age, while surrounded by family members. We at politicaLDS mourn the passing of President Hinckley and offer our prayers on behalf of his family.

I just love Gordon B, and I can't feel sad about his passing because he lived the very definition of a long, full life. But he will be very missed by this household.
I cherished his message of reaching out beyond our comfort zone, our ward friends, to our *neighbors* in every sense of the word. His message of minimizing differences and finding common ground. Of putting it out there and letting it be.
He did so much for the people of our church and for people all around the world. His was a wonderful life indeed.
you know, I really can't feel bad either - I mean, we know great things are in store for him, and he lived a great, remarkable life and he helped so many people, so all I can do is say, thank you!
Boy, I miss him!
